FIU Accordion LTI Deactivation from Canvas on December 10, 2024
On December 10, 2024, from 12:00am to 1:00am ET, the FIU Canvas Team will be removing the FIU Accordion LTI from Canvas. The FIU Accordion LTI was mainly used to create collapsible/expandable content areas in Canvas. All content created in the FIU Accordion integration will continue to be available, and moving forward, new accordion-style content can be developed using tools like H5P and DesignPLUS, which offer similar or enhanced functionality.

On December 12, 2024,from 12:00am to 1:00am ET, the FIU Canvas Team will be removing the Conference tool from Canvas. Canvas’ native Conference tool was primarily used for virtual lectures, virtual office hours, and student groups. As an alternative, FIU offers other tools for virtual collaboration, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams which provide robust features to support your teaching and learning needs.

On December 12, 2024, from 1:00am to 2:00am ET, the FIU Canvas Team will be removing the Class for Zoom integration from academic Canvas. Class for Zoom was an online video-conferencing teaching platform that was used in some synchronous class sessions.
Please note that this change will not affect Zoom (FIU’s official web conferencing platform) and its Canvas integration.
